The UK’s First Plant-Based Pitching Event Is Returning For 2019

Pitch + Plant is back for 2019!

This year, for the first time, Vevolution will make investments directly into plant-based startups. This is such an exciting time for us, as the foundation of Vevolution is about helping businesses that want to create positive change in the world - and now we are taking that to the next level.

Speaking about Pitch + Plant 2019 Vevolution Co-Founder Damien Clarkson said:

“Ever since we started Vevolution, Judy and I have found ways to support plant-based entrepreneurs. The move into plant-based investing is something we are passionate about, because we see so many talented entrepreneurs in need of advice and support from people who care passionately about the growth of the plant-based movement. We’ve been lucky to have some great investors and supporters believing in us along the way and we want to find more ways to help other entrepreneurs with their plant-based businesses.”`

At Vevolution Festival 2017, we held the UK’s very first plant-based investment pitching event - Pitch + Plant. The winner of the pitch was offered up to £1500 in prize money, as well as mentorship. Runners up were offered a prize of £500.

We received 29 application from plant-powered entrepreneurs across the UK, and there were very strong contenders. 6 finalists were eventually selected and asked to pitch to the plant-based dragons at Vevolution. After much debate, Upcircle Beauty were chosen as the winners, and then went on to raise over £200,000 on Crowdcube!

In 2018, we hosted our second Pitch + Plant at our Plant-Based Business Bootcamp event where we offered a plant-based business investment of up to £100,000. Three startups ended up winning the joint money prize: One Planet Pizza, FRUU, and Purezza.

We are so excited to announce that Pitch + Plant will be back at our Plant-Based Business Bootcamp for a second year running. Applications are now open.

The Plant-Based Business Bootcamp is back for its second year happening on Saturday 13th July at LUSH Studio in Soho, London.

The bootcamp has been developed to give entrepreneurs new skills and insights needed to create a stand out plant-based business. It has been designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs.
