Yet another Vevolution event series is done! We have had so much fun putting together, and hosting the Topics events this year. Seeing all of our work come together, and seeing people enjoy the events will never get old. A huge thank you to everyone involved in Topics this year, and thank you to all the attendees that came to enjoy the events, and support us - you guys are amazing.
We hosted Topics: Business and Topics: Environment in February and April this year, and welcomed plant-powered pioneers that we admire, and know that our audience would love, into Camden Town’s Roundhouse venue. The talks were inspiring, thought-provoking, and helpful, as usual (so keep a look out for the talks to be published on our podcast in the future!) If you missed out this time, take a look at some of the highlights below:
A BEAUTIFUL VENUE
We were fortunate enough to have lunch catered by Planted and Fields Beneath. These guys never disappoint with their colourful, delicious, healthy dishes. Having the opportunity to sit down and have lunch before the talks was such a great addition to the day.
The Roundhouse is a performing arts and concert venue in Camden Town. It’s such a creative, and inspiring space, so you can imagine how excited we were that we could host Topics in that venue! The supper club had plenty of natural lighting, and the talks area was lovely and spacious.
We heard from: Blue Ollis, Anna (Greenpeace campaigner), Jess (Extinction Rebellion member) and Emilie (co-founder of Oddbox). We learnt about how to get more active as an environmentalist, and how we can overcome the emerging environmental crisis. The speakers were varied in the advice they gave us, from reducing food waste, to becoming passionate activists.
We heard from: Biff (co-founder of Biff’s Jack Shack), Stefanie (founder of Mindful Bites), Paul (founder of BOL), Amber (co-founder of BRAVE), and William (co-founder of UpCircle). We learnt about what it takes to create a successful plant-based business, from people who are already established in their careers. We also learnt lots of useful information on investment, too.
GREAT ENERGY & CONVERSATIONS
We were able to learn a bit more about the caterers and the food they had served us. The Fields Beneath were very transparent about where their ingredients came from, and sourced locally where possible. It’s inspirational that both of these caterers use seasonal ingredients, and it’s a great way of showing others that it can be done!
Our events always have such great energy, because of you wonderful attendees! Everyone is so willing to connect with each other, and keep on building this amazing plant-powered community. We always have such great conversations with you all, and it’s so nice to have the opportunity to network before and after the talks.
CALLS TO ACTION
We left the events with plenty of fresh knowledge, advice, and motivation. At Topics: Business, we learnt that there is still a place for new vegan businesses, so we should go for it! At Topics: Environment, we learnt that there are many plant-powered organisations and communities out there to join and create positive change with.
As you already know, we love to support vegan businesses, and there are truly so many of them! This time we welcomed businesses like, The Vegan Larder, Tideford Organics and Greenpeace. It was great to have such a mixture, and we hope that our attendees were able to discover some new and amazing plant-powered brands to love!
